Our Who and Why
The Backcountry Inn & Hostel was inspired by those who travel off the paths and seek true nature and adventure!
Once we found our spot here in Prince Edward County, there was no questions that this was perfect. Our owner is a true backpacker and hostel stayer. In fact, may even disappear for a roadtrip to a backcountry trail somewhere in the world.
This facility also serves as a military and other professional training group accommodation as it's primary function through our primary Training Company in the County. We welcome guests to stay with us when these groups are not utilizing the facility to make your stay in the county more affordable and provide most of the same amenities as motels and Inns. Check the reservations page to see public availability.
Proudly a dog friendly facility!
Our owner is also an avid Dog lover and insists on having them as guests, if you have one in the family. Don't be surprised if you see a few roaming the grounds as we are also a loving rescue and foster home for our little furry friends locally. They will enjoy the acres to play fetch and run with others. For the safety of your pet and others we ask that they be flea & tick treated and vaccinated to stay.
We do accomodate K9 Training Companies as well. Contact us for rates.
We are a community oriented company and host many local events and dinners and BBQ's. As a guest you are more than welcome to attend these events and functions during your stay.
Our building is affectionately known throughout the County as "The Old Girl Guide Camp". An older building with significant history to many in the local community. We have done our best to maintain its original character to cherish the memories for those who stop in regularly to reminisce; while giving it some minor upgrades to give it a functional appeal for the new age traveler. Building a cozy nature resort in the heart of the countryside. Located in the Waupoos Area of Prince Edward County, Ontario.
